Petra was born in San Benito, Texas on January 18, 1928 to parents Merced Espinoza and Gurmecinda (Perez) Espinoza. She met the love of her life, Carlos Alaniz in 1951. Shortly after, he enlisted in the Army. Upon his return, they got married and raised their two children in Wasco. Petra valued the time she spent in her garden tending to her plants and reminiscing about her days as a youth. She collected figurines for many years. She had stories for each figurine and never missed the opportunity… to share them with anyone.
Petra is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carlos Alaniz; son, Alex Alaniz and wife Letty; daughter, Margie Alaniz; six grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Merced and Gurmecinda Espinoza; brother, Francisco Espinoza; sister, Dominga Aguirre.

Conoci al amor de su vida, Carlos Alaniz en 1951, un Poco despus, de que l se enlistara en el ejrcito. A su regreso, se casaron y criaron a sus dos hijos en Wasco. Petra valor el tiempo que pasaba en su jardn atendiendo a sus plantas y recordando sus das de juventud. Petra reuni figurillas durante muchos aos. Haba historias para cada figura y nunca perdi la oportunidad de compartir con nadie.
Petra es sobrevivida por su esposo de 61 aos, Carlos Alaniz; hijo, Alex Alaniz y esposa Letty; hija, Margie Alaniz; seis nietos y cinco bisnietos. Petra es precedida en la muerte de sus padres Merced y Gurmecinda Espinoza; hermano, Francisco Espinoza; hermana, Dominga Aguirre.
