Ruben Molina was born on June 16, 1956 to Mary and Richard Molina in Wasco, CA, he was the youngest of 4 children. Ruben unexpectedly passed away in Bakersfield, CA and went to his Eternal Home on June 1, 2023. He is preceded in death by his Mom Mary Molina, Sister Stella Alegria, best friends Robert Espinoza and Steven Maston.

Ruben Molina was a graduate of Wasco High School, class of 1974, and was a member of the basketball team and made many close friends that turned into lifelong friendships. Ruben married and had three children, Stephanie, Allison, and Nicholas. Ruben worked many years for the Kern County Juvenile Probation Department where he made an impact in many kid’s lives who would run into him years later still thanking him and saying “hello Mr. Molina”. After resigning from the County, he worked as a paralegal/legal assistant until he retired in June 2022.

Ruben was a dedicated sports fan and rarely missed watching a game. He loved watching his Kansas City Chiefs, especially the last few years when they made him proud and became Super Bowl Champions. He also loved the Los Angeles Lakers and was always cheering them on. If you were anywhere that he was at during football or basketball season, you knew he was there wearing all of his fan gear and letting it be known “who’s house it was”.

Ruben had an outgoing personality and made friends everywhere he went, he would find the closest restaurant to his home and become a regular customer making many friends there. He always had a smile on his face and telling stories and jokes making everyone laugh. No one was ever safe from being made fun of or him making jokes at their expense, all in a loving way. His love for music was so big and his music library was full of all different types of genres. He would sit for hours just listening to his music and be content, everything from his favorite rapper Snoop Dogg to his old school favorites Tower of Power, War, or the Gap Band and this list goes on.

Ruben was truly a great man who never met a stranger and has left an impact that will forever be felt by his family and friends. He is survived by his children Stephanie, Allison, and Nicholas Molina; Grandchildren Christopher Molina, Andrew Dimas, and Annalysa Franco; His brother Richard Molina & wife Gloria Molina; His sister Olga Albiar & husband Fernando Albiar; Several Nieces and Nephews; Best Friends Vincent Noldon, Ronald Montecino, and Bob Brown; and many other friends and family.

Viewing for Ruben will be on Thursday, June 29th from 4pm-8pm at Peter’s Funeral Home in Wasco, funeral Services will take place at 10 a.m. on June 30th at Canyon Hills Church in Wasco CA, followed by a graveside se
