Joe Edward Parten was born May 8, 1935 to Edgar and Bertha Parten in Pocahontas, Arkansas. When Joe was around 10 years old the family relocated to Tulare County, California. When Joe was 17 we met Willie Mae Rice and the two were married in 1953 in Visalia, Ca. Joe and Willie had 6 children, settling in Wasco Ca happily married married for 39 years until her passing in 1992. He later Met Darline And her son Ronnie. Joe and Darline Were married in 1994 in wasco Ca where the two resided until his passing on May 23, 2022.
Joe was preceded in Death by his parents Edgar and Bertha Parten, wife Willie Parten, sons Edward Parten and Ronnie Parten , and Grandson Sean Parten.
He is survived by his sister Mae Hendershot, wife Darline Parten, daughters Lela Pentecost, Louise Branson, Virginia Horton and Diane Jeffords, son Charles Parten and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Joe started working in the fields in Tulare county when he was just a young boy. He was always a great provider for his family. His career included foreman for Quilling Ranch, and Shuller Farms before becoming an Owner of Quality Spreaders with Rex Vaughn. After He retired he worked for Savage Coal for a short time.
Not that Joe had much time for hobbies with six children but once in while he found a way to go hunting with his Dogs.
After willie passed in 1992 Joe dedicated his life to the Lord. He was a leader in Awana’s, a chaperone for The youth group on a regular basis and served as a Deacon for first Baptist church for many years. Joe loved the Lord and loved his church and family.
