Robert Sanchez, 54, passed away on January 19, 2023 in Shafter, California. He was born on June 23, 1968 in Bakersfield, California to Balbina Sanchez.
Robert grew up in Wasco, California. He graduated from Wasco High School in Wasco, California in 1986. While in high school he began working for the Wasco Union High School District as a student custodian. After graduation he began working for the Wasco Union Elementary School District as a sub custodian. He was hired as a night custodian by the district in 1987. Robert eventually moved into the maintenance department and soon after became the MOT director. He worked for the district for 35 years.
Robert enjoyed golfing, building in his shop, and spending time with his daughters.
Robert is survived by his daughters Nikolette Sanchez of Ventura, California, Robyn Sanchez of Wasco, California, and Melanie Sanchez of San Francisco, California; his twin brother Rick Sanchez (Maria) of Wasco, California; his brothers Ernie Sanchez (Patricia) of Wasco, California, Ralph Sanchez (Maricela) of Shafter, California, Michael Sanchez, Eddie Sanchez, and Vincent, Jr. all of Bakersfield, California; His sisters Maria Sanchez-Torres (Samuel) and Jackie Garza both of Wasco, California, Patricia Sanchez (Brian) of Oklahoma, Anita Sanchez and Shaunda both of Bakersfield, California; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Balbina Sanchez; his sister, Rosanne Sanchez; his brother, Richard Sanchez; His brother-in-law, Adam Garza; his niece, Jordan Garza; and his nephew, Joseph Guzman.
Visitation will be held at Basham and Lara Funeral Care on Friday, February, 10, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Palm Avenue Middle School Gymnasium on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Wasco Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
