Obituary for Vicente M. Moreno Sr.

Vicente Mares Moreno Sr. was born in Matamoros Tamaulipas , Mexico. He was born to parents Isabel Moreno and Antonia Mares on October 27, 1932. Vicente moved to the United States as a young man with his father and brother. He became a Naturalized American citizen on June 5, 1995 to which he was very proud of this accomplishment. Vicente was a responsible man who enjoyed working for his family. He worked in the Rose Flower Growing Industry for more than 30 years and found great joy in being part… of various varieties of rose creation. The “Pristine” variety rose was one of his favorites. Vicente was a patient man who loved surrounding himself with his family every opportunity he got. He had nicknames for almost every family member. His favorite sayings was, “Atta Boy Cowboy” and “What’s Cooking.”
Vicente was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and passed into God’s celestial gates in the early morning of September 30, 2018.
Vicente is mourned by his children, Gloria Moreno, Vincent Moreno Jr. and wife Adella, Alfredo Moreno, Virginia Saldana and husband Salvador, Linda Almaraz and husband Miguel, Pristina Alvarez and husband Jose, Abel Moreno; first wife, Josephine Holguin.
He has 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son, Mario Moreno; wife, Salome Moreno; parents, Isabel and Antonia Moreno.
A Mass of a Christian Burial will be officiated by Father Raul A. Sanchez Flores Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wasco, CA. A viewing will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4-8pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, CA.
