Obituary for William Glenn McDonald

William Glenn McDonald was born January 10, 1946 in Bakersfield one of five children born to William Cecil McDonald and Ellen Marie (Churchill) McDonald Bryant. He was a life-long resident of Wasco and attended Wasco elementary schools and graduated from Wasco High School with the Class of 1964. After graduating he enlisted in the Marines Corp and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1970 attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. Upon his return, he attended… Porterville College where he played football and met his future wife, Gloria Knight. They have celebrated 47 years of togetherness. He worked many years in the Wasco potato sheds. He enjoyed coaching woman’s softball and played men’s softball and all sports including fishing. He enjoyed watching tennis, basketball and football on TV.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil McDonald, Marie Bryant, brother, Tommy McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Knight; step-daughter, Lisa West-McDonald and husband Kristopher McDonald; granddaughter, Jasmine McDonald; brothers, Pete McDonald & wife Grace; June Mize and husband Don; Linda Plotner & companion Randy Mullins; 11 nieces and nephews and many other loving family members.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 5, at 11am at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco. Pastor Randy Hilburn of the Rosedale Church of Christ will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
