Richard Garcia, 37 peacefully went home to be with his Lord & Savior surrounded by his loving family on August 2, 2023, at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital in Fresno, CA. 

Richard was born on May 24, 1986, in Wasco, CA. As a youth he played in little league baseball. He graduated from Wasco High School. He was an avid basketball and football player and his passion for the sports led him in becoming a loyal fan of the Raiders and Lakers teams all his life. 

In 2008 he met the love of his life, his queen, Jaleesa. Soon thereafter, they married and started a family of their own. They welcomed their first son, Noah, in 2010 and Messiah in 2018. His wife and sons were the joy of his life. Richard worked as a truck driver for Producers delivering milk to the schools. He was also a self-taught Barber. He often enjoyed volunteering his time giving haircuts to anyone he knew, the kids in his neighborhood, and all his family and friends in Wasco.

Richard attended Family Life Worship Center in McFarland. His unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his character. His passion for sharing God's love and grace was evident. He recently graduated from Teen Challenge Ministry Institute on June 18, 2023 and was named valedictorian of his class. His plans were to continue to receive his pastoral license. 

Richard is proceeded in death by his father, Robert Espinoza and brother, Miguel Soto. He is survived by his wife, Jaleesa, his sons, Noah, and Messiah Garcia. His Mother, Petra "Baby" Hiracheta. Brothers, Robert "RJ" Espinoza (Tracy), Gustavo "Gus" Soto, Christian Soto, and Jeremy Mitchell. Sisters, Salina Beltran, Brittany Mitchell and many nieces and nephews.

 

A viewing will take place on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, CA. 4-8PM. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at New Generation Church 1017 Central Ave. Wasco, CA at 10AM. We invite all those whose lives he touched to join us in paying tribute to the incredible man he was.

 

Rest in eternal peace, dear Richard. You will be deeply missed, but your love and light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
