Obituary for Louis Montecino

Louis Montecino was born on August 19th, 1914 in Big Spring, Texas to Felipe and Timotea Montecino. Louis was a young boy of 6 when they moved to Wasco, Ca. On October 23rd, 1938 Louis married his “Sunshine” Esther Gallardo. They had 3 children Yolanda, Michael and Ronald. Louis worked for Kern Co. Land Company which later became Tenneco from 1952 till his retirement after 30 years in 1982 He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was passionate about cooking and gardening. He was… a avid walker and was seen by many walking the 3 miles around Wasco every morning. He also loved to dance and won many dance contests in his younger years. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Timotea, his sisters, Carolynn Gallardo, Mena Enriquize, Alice Nadraskey, Josie Vasquez, Inez Montecino, his daughter Yolanda Casteneda, and his granddaughter Annette Aguilar. He is survived by the love of his life Esther Gallardo Montecino, his sister Margret Vasquez, his sons Michael Montecino and Ronald Montecino, 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Optimal Hospice for their wonderful care….. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 7 pm for Louis Montecino, age 96, of Wasco, who passed away September 26, 2010 in Wasco. Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday, October 1, at 10am at St. John’s Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 2-5 pm.
