Obituary for Elisa Esquivel

Elisa Esquivel was born June 14, 1950 to Teodosia (Nevarez) and Roman Arreola in El Salvador, Villa Hidalgo, Durango, Mexico. She moved to Kern County in the early 1970’s and married Lucio Esquivel April 22, 1976 in Delano. They lived in Shafter, Lost Hills and settled in Wasco. Elisa loved cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and watching novelas. Elisa is survived by her husband of 35 years, Lucio Esquivel of Wasco; daughters, Isela Esquivel, Araceli Esquivel Alba and Joana Esquivel,… all of Wasco; brothers, Jesus Arreola of Mexico, Roberto Arreola and Lucio Arreola, both of Wasco; sisters, Clarita Avila, Guadalupe Sosa and Gregoria Hernandez Arreola, all of Mexico; and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Alejandro Arreola. The family would like to give special thanks to Mercy Hospice for all their help and support. Holy Rosary will be recited Monday, November 7, at 6pm at St. John’s Church for Elisa Esquivel, age 61, of Wasco who passed away November 4, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said Tuesday, November 8, at 10am at St. John’s Church. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitations will be held Sunday, November 6 from 4 to 8pm and Monday, November 7 from 2 to 5pm at Peters Funeral Home.
