Obituary for Jane Marie Urban

Jane Marie Urban, known by many as Mima, was born on February 1, 1922 in Manhattan, New York. With her family by her side, Jane peacefully went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2016 in Bakersfield, California. She was ninety-four years old. Jane worked for the Bakersfield City School district until she retired at the age of eighty-five. She loved all of the children she was able to work with. Jane was married on May 24th in the year of 1941 to Francis Raymond Urban. Together, they had… one daughter, Patricia Urban. Jane loved and adored her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s and great-grand children’s events. She also enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Jane had a great relationship with Jesus Christ and loved to talk about it. Jane was preceded in death by her grandson Kevin Brian Mehlberg. Mima is survived by her daughter Patricia Mehlberg, her grandson Jeff and Debbie Mehlberg, and her great-grandchildren Hailey and Ben Coyle, Noah Mehlberg, Sydney Mehlberg, and Ensley Mehlberg of Wasco California. There will be a graveside service at the Wasco Cemetery, 300 Leonard Avenue/ Highway 46 in Wasco California. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at Grace Community Church, 1544 Seventh Street in Wasco California. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Mehlberg, Noah Mehlberg, Evan Schulte, John Paul Rodriguez, Ben Coyle, and Brian Kibler. Pastor Patrick Coyle from the Mennonite Brethren Church of Shafter California will be the service officiant.
