Obituary for Mike Glen Gafner
Michael Glen Gafner was born in Fresno, Ca. on January 16, 1959 to parents, Frank and Mary Jeane Gafner. He graduated from Wasco Union High School in 1977. Mike married Margaret (Dibene) Gafner on May 15, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nv. Mike was well known around town; he was a member of the Elks Lodge, Lions Club and Kiwanas. Always a jokester, he loved to make people smile and laugh. He also got a kick out of pulling pranks on people or scaring the kids when he got the chance. Mike loved to be surrounded… by his family and friends at all times, and he cherished his time with his grandchildren. Mike’s family draws peace and comfort from his recent acceptance of The Lord, Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Jeane Gafner; his sister, Judy Gafner; and brother, Steve Gafner. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gafner; children, Chris Dibene (Gafner) and wife Kim, Cassandra Gafner, Joey Rodriguez and wife Anai, Brandee Gafner, Frankie Gafner and Steven Gafner; grandchildren, Taylor, Bailey, Mia, Alexander, Anthony, Andrew, Jolie, Janie, Zella and Arlene; his brother, Randy Gafner and wife Debbie; and his best friend, Larry Cross.
Mike took his last breath at his residence in Shafter, Ca on July 24, 2016 with all of his family and best friend by his side. A viewing will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on August 5, 2016 from 4-8pm. Funeral Services will also be held at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter on August 6, 2016 at 11am, interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Reception will be held at the Shafter/Wasco Elks Lodge following the services at the Wasco Memorial Park.
